Musings of a book blogger

The A-Z book tag

Hi everyone! So I saw this tag on Steph’s blog a little but a lot and just knew I needed to do it. I love doing book related tags as I like to write content that is book related but not necessarily a book review.

Author you’ve read the most books from: This would probably be Holly Bourne or Sara Barnard.

Best Sequel Ever: Probably a tossup between fierce fragile hearts and a girl called shameless.

Currently Reading: I am currently reading Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff which is the second book of the illuminae files series.

Drink of Choice While Reading: I don’t really have one. I just drink juice during the day so I might have a cup of juice next to me whilst I am reading.

E-reader or Physical Book?: E-reader most of the time but I will buy the odd physical book.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School: I don’t think I have an answer to this one if I am being honest.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance: I would probably say Heartstoppers by Alice Oseman. It is actually a graphic novel so I wasn’t sure if it would be my thing but I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for volume 2 to come out.

Hidden Gem book: There are so many books I could list here that need way more recognition. I would say the Ink series by Alice Broadway and Incarnate by Jodi Meadows.

Important Moment in your Reading Life: I can’t really think of any to be honest. It’s a particularly important moment but I think one of the key moments of my reading life was when I really got into YA.

Just Finished: I just finished reading the screenplay of fantastic beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read: Mainly horror, historical and classics.

Longest Book You’ve Read:  I think the longest book I read was probably Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix.

Major book hangover because of: So many to name! I hate getting to the end of books that I have loved.

Number of Bookcases You Own: I actually don’t own any. I had a big one at our old house but I have shelves in part of my wardrobe where I store my books.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times: I have never actually read a book more than once but I am making a list of the books I want to re-read.

Preferred Place To Read: Pretty much anywhere. I used to read in bed but I haven’t done that since my fiance moved in so I just read on the sofa most of the time.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:

Reading Regret: Buying books that I haven’t ended up reading. I once bought the book thief even though I don’t like historical fiction and to the surprise of no-one I didn’t finish it.

Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series): I have so many! I need to finish the illuminae series, the burn for burn series and incarnate series.

Three of your All-Time Favourite Books: I would go with The exact opposite of okay by Laura Steven, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, and

Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others: Anything written by Holly Bourne always make it onto my auto-buy list so I am extremely excited for The places I’ve cried in public. I am also excited for Rose, Interrupted by Patrice Lawrence.

Worst Bookish Habit: I don’t really have in any but I used to dog ear books before I learnt the error of my ways and bought a bookmark. I also have a tendency to wait weeks to write a review by which point I have forgotten almost everything about the book. So maybe I do have a couple.

Your latest book purchase: Harry Potter 1,2 & 3 in the 20th anniversary hufflepuff editions.

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late): I’ve never actually stayed up late reading a book.

There you have it! Feel free to take part in the tag yourself and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
