May

Hi everyone! So it’s already May and I have no idea how. I haven’t been up to too much this month, just the same old routine of spending my days doing uni work. Thankfully my last assignment before my dissertation is due in this week so I will be highly relieved to have it submitted as it’ll take some of the pressure off. We did have a really nice bank holiday weekend. We had a couple of friends over on the Saturday for a couple of hours and we had a barbecue on the Sunday which was really nice. I also discovered a new podcast that I have become addicted to called Court Junkie. I don’t really know how to describe it so I’ll give you the synopsis from Spotify:

“Imagine being wrongfully convicted for a crime you didn’t commit, or imagine your child’s killer is still on the loose even though there’s enough evidence for an arrest. I want to help shine light on the injustices of our judicial system. I delve into court documents, attend trials, and interview those close to the case to help me tell their stories.”

If you are into true crime then you definitely need to read this. I also saw Avengers: Endgame and it was AMAZING!! I obviously won’t spoil it for anyone but if you have seen it feel free to let me know in the comments.

What I read in April
I am finding that I read a similar amount of books each month as I have read six books this month.
Fated
Scar
Call it what you want
Midnight sun
Five feet apart
A good girl’s guide to murder

What I want to read in May
All about Mia – I have had this book on my to-read list for a while and I have loved Lisa Williamson’s other books the art of being normal and paper avalanche so when I saw this in waterstones I just knew I needed to pick this up.
The hate u give – Again this book has been on my to-read list for a while but since the movie came out I have been desperate to read it and I also saw a paperback edition that had to yellow edges so it seemed rude not to buy it.
Serious moonlight – So I actually requested this book on netgalley and it got accepted!! I already added it to my to-read so when I saw it on netgalley I thought I would just request it and see what happened, I actually didn’t expect for the request to get accepted as most of the time they get denied.

How was your April? What are your plans for May? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for reading!

Abbie. X
