“Betrayal. Sacrifice. Survival.
Welcome to the Extinction Trials.
In Stormchaser and Lincoln’s ruined world, the only way to survive is to risk everything. To face a contest more dangerous than anyone can imagine. And they will do anything to win.
But in a land full of monsters – human and reptilian – they can’t afford to trust anyone. Perhaps not even each other…”
So I will admit I wasn’t sure I would like the book as much as I actually did. It’s been on my reading list for a while but I’ve been apprehensive about picking it up. I have to say that I much prefer books to be written in the first person rather than in the third but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book as much as I thought it would. This book is described as the hunger games meets Jurassic Park and I think this is pretty spot on. The whole idea of the trials definitely reminds me of the hunger games. There are also a lot of shocks and twists that you don’t really see coming and it’s a really gripping book. I’m already onto the second book exile and it just keeps getting better.
