20 questions book tag

Hi everyone! So I love a good book tag and I saw this one on Jenny in Neverland so I just knew I had to do it!

How many books is too many in a series? – I feel like it depends on the series. When I was younger I read a series that was at the time twelve books long and I didn’t get bored of it and the Harry Potter series was 7 books which I read so I actually quite like a longer series although there have been series that have worked better with it being no longer than 3 books.

How do you feel about cliffhangers? – I like them if there is a book to follow in from it. However, it can be pretty frustrating if a new book has released and ends on a cliffhanger and it is the only book in the series.

Hard copy or paperback? – 90% of the time paperbacks as they are lightweight and often less expensive, although if there is a book recently released that I have to read I am willing to buy it as a hardback because a lot of books get released as a hardback first and the paperback copy doesn’t often get released until around 9 months to a year after the books initial release and if I am desperate to read a book I can’t bear to wait that long.

Favourite book? – I won’t lie, I have so many favourite books. However some of the books I love more than the rest include the exact opposite of okay, Simon versus the homo sapiens agenda and Small great things.

Least favourite book? – Its actually quite rare that input and out have a book but the one book I really didn’t enjoy was Catcher in the rye. I just didn’t think there was much of a plot to it, and it was probably a bit old for me. I also didn’t enjoy the great gatsby.

Love triangles, yes or no? – I would definitely have to say no. I just feel like it can be a bit tedious and end up being a bit cheesy. Also, it can end up being that the Love triangles doesn’t change the plots outcome. If you’ve read You’re the one that I want by Giovanna Fletcher you’ll understand what I mean.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish? – I started reading the hauntings by Alan titchmarsh for a book nook prompt but really wasn’t to my taste and no matter how much I wanted to try and read it to the end I just couldnt. I often don’t like to leave books unfinished, this was probably only the third or fourth time I’ve never made it to the end of a book.

A book you’re currently reading? – I am currently reading Eve of Man by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher which I am seriously enjoying!

Last book you recommended to someone? – I recommended a few books to my auntie quite recently, although I’m always raving about books I love to other people and on my blog.

Oldest book you’ve read? – Probably catcher in the rye which as I already mentioned I wasn’t a huge fan of.

Newest book you’ve read? – Eve of Man is actually the Newest book I’ve read as it was released may this year. I have to admit I’ve read quite a few new releases recently although it’s not something I do often.

Favourite author? – I have so many at the moment! I am in love with Cecelia Ahern, Giovanna Fletcher, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Holly Bourne to name a few.

Buying books or borrowing books? – I used to buy books all the time but due to the volume of books I currently own and my financial situation I joined t he library a couple of months ago and I am actually really enjoying borrowing books from the library.

A book you dislike that everyone seems to like? – I would probably say Twilight and The girl on the train. I was actually disappointed with the girl on the train as I’d heard good things about it.

Bookmarks or dogears? – I used to be the worst for dogearing but recently I’ve been getting better at using bookmarks, so much so that I now get annoyed at other people for dogearing books.

A book you can always reread? – I’m not actually the sort of person to reread a book, particularly if the first time round there was a shock twist or if the book has a mystery that you don’t find out until the end. I just feel like I would get bored and considering I never have less than 100 books on my TBR I often prefer to read a new book to one I’ve already read.

Can you read whilst listening to music? – I mean I could but often I tune everything else out if I’m reading a book because I’m in my own world.

One POV or multiple POVs? – I’m a huge sucker for multiple point of views. A lot of my favourite books are written from at least two point of views. It just gives so much more depth to the overall story.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days? – I often read a book over a few days. I think the quickest I can read a book is around a week.

One book you read because of the cover? – The girl of ink and stars although I had read a review of it before reading it as well so I’m not sure it technically counts. Although I have been attracted to books because of their cover, I often have to read the synopsis before reading it.

There you have it! If you want to do this tag feel free and be sure to tag me so I can read them!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I feel like the benefits of belonging to the library is often so overlooked – it’s an amazing way to get your hands on a plethora of great books and reading material at a low cost, especially for those whose finances are tied up in things like school!

  2. You didn’t like Gatsby??!? (also, I believe Gatsby is older than Catcher, but don’t quote me on that!) I read The Catcher in the Rye but didn’t have many opinions on it, to be honest! It was a bit meh, wasn’t it?
