My most anticipated book releases for this year

Hi everyone! So I’ve never been one to take a lot of interest in new releases. I often notice them but I don’t always think about the new releases that I have to read as soon as they come out. I’m the type of person who ends up becoming obsessed with a book that was released five years ago, it is quite rare I read a book as soon as it comes out.

I do have some exceptions but that number probably only amounts to about three. However, there are so many books coming out this year that I just can’t wait to get my hands on so I thought it would be cool to share these with you.

How do you like me now? by Holly Bourne
“Who the f*ck is Tori Bailey? There’s no doubt that Tori is winning the game of life. A straight-talking, bestselling author, she’s inspired millions of women around the world with her self-help memoir. And she has the perfect relationship to boot. But Tori Bailey has been living a lie. Her long-term boyfriend won’t even talk about marriage, but everyone around her is getting engaged and having babies. And when her best friend Dee – her plus one, the only person who understands the madness – falls in love, suddenly Tori’s in terrifying danger of being left behind.

When the world tells you to be one thing and turning thirty brings with it a loud ticking clock, it takes courage to walk your own path. It’s time for Tori to practice what she’s preached, but the question is: is she brave enough?”

Release date: June 14th

I can’t even explain how excited I am for the release of this book. Holly Bourne has quickly become one of my favourite authors so when I heard she was bringing out her first adult novel I just couldn’t wait. Holly is known for her YA novels so this is totally new for her but the book sounds amazing. It seems to be on the same lines as some kind of wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher so I am really excited for it. The good thing about Holly is that a lot of her YA novels are based around romance and friendship so it doesn’t seem like too much of a huge leap from what I’m used to reading by her. I’ve also been seeing the proofs all over my twitter so I need June to hurry up so I can finally get my hands on it.

When the curtain falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher
In 1952 two young lovers meet, in secret, at the beautiful Southern Cross theatre in the very heart of London’s West End. Their relationship is made up of clandestine meetings and stolen moments because there is someone who will make them suffer if he discovers she is no longer ‘his’. But life in the theatre doesn’t always go according to plan and tragedy and heartache are waiting in the wings for all the players . . .

Almost seventy years later, a new production of When the Curtain Falls arrives at the theatre, bringing with it Oscar Bright and Olive Green and their budding romance. Very soon, though, strange things begin to happen and they learn about the ghost that’s haunted the theatre since 1952, a ghost who can only be seen on one night of the year. Except the ghost is appearing more often and seems hell bent on sabotaging Oscar and Olive. The young couple realise they need to right that wrong from years gone by, but can they save themselves before history repeats itself and tragedy strikes once more?”

Release date: 12th July

I have fallen in love with Carrie since watching her YouTube channel so when she released her very first novel I was so excited. It actually took me till last year to finally get round to reading it mind because I was unsure if it would be my kind of book but I loved it. As a result, I knew I had to pick up her second novel which I also loved so I was so excited to hear she was releasing her third novel this year. The one thing that I love in Carrie’s novels is the magical element that resides along side the romantic element. I love that she has used her love for acting in this novel too.

Eve of Man by Tom Fletcher and Giovanna Fletcher

Release date: 31st May

So there currently isn’t a full synopsis for this one yet as they only just announced it. However, the premise of the story is that there hasn’t been a female born for fifty years, until now. I am so excited for this novel as I have never read anything by Tom as he is mainly a children’s writer and it is something very different to what I have read of Giovanna’s. Also, I love reading novels that are written by two authors. It will be interesting because it isn’t like anything I have particularly read before so it’ll be interesting to see whether I actually like it or not. I know I have to read it though because it’s Tom and Gi.

Are there any books you can’t wait to be released this year? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
