My blogging fuck budget

Hi everyone! So today’s post is inspired by Abbey Louisa Rose as she recently wrote a post about her own blogging fuck budget. She based it on the concept of a fuck budget from Sarah Knight’s book The life changing magic of not giving a fuck. I have been wanting to read this book for ages but haven’t got round to it yet. I wanted to read the book before writing and sharing my personal fuck budget but I thought it would be fun to do a blogging one!

✔️ I give a fuck about genuine comments

One thing I do care about is the quality of the comments people leave me. I love to read a comment where someone has clearly read my post and genuinely has something to say about it. I love leaving people long comments and always want others to leave comments like mine. I prefer to have a few thought out comments on my post than loads of generic ones.

I don’t give a fuck about stats

So naturally bloggers do care about numbers to some extent but I’m not going to be upset if I don’t get hundreds of views on my blog posts. I also know nothing about SEO and DA and it doesn’t bother me at all. I write for me and any views that I get are a bonus.

✔️ I give a fuck about my content

If there is nothing I love more about blogging it is the writing process. The quality of the posts is more important to me than the quantity. I would rather post strong content every so often than having to share a mediocre post for the sake of getting a post out. I prefer to make sure a post is the best it can be before I share it.

I don’t give a fuck about photography

I do always think about how much better my blog would be if I take my own photos. However, I just don’t have time for that personally and it honestly doesn’t bother me anymore. I just use a stock photo from Pexels for my feature photo and don’t include any photos in the post itself. Personally, photography isnt important to me when it comes to blogging as I prefer the writing side of it.

✔️ I give a fuck about instagram

So I have a mixed relationship with Instagram but overall I do love it. I don’t care about posting the perfect picture or having a theme but I do like posting every now and again and I love looking at other peoples pictures. I especially love the feeds of creatives.

I don’t give a fuck about having a niche

It’s usually common practice for bloggers to have a niche and for some people it’s important and works but it’s not something that works for me. I feel it restricts me and I love to write a mixture of posts. I feel like its harder for me to write within a niche because I feel like I can’t write a certain post as it doesn’t fall within that niche.

I don’t give a fuck about setting myself goals

OK so for the last few months I’ve been setting myself blogging goals and I’ve enjoyed it. However, I feel like when I set myself goals I put unnecessary pressure on myself. I’m also constantly setting myself the same goals and I always find it hard to achieve them so I prefer not to set myself any and it makes blogging feel like less of a chore.

So that’s my blogging fuck budget! What would be on your budget? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I loved reading this post. I’d never heard of something like this. It was nee to me, but we pretty much have the same outlok when it comes to blogging goals and a niche. Though, I find Instagram to be stressful because of the pressure of getting likes.

  2. What a refreshing post. I’m very much the same. I don’t care about stats or pictures taken on the finest camera. I just want to create a blog I enjoy writing and spending time on

  3. I relate to you so much!!! I also don’t have time for pictures and often feel like I’m posting random stuff just for my own fun haha. Good to know someone else feels the same and doesn’t care about fitting any blogger stereotypes or expectations!
