My favourite films of 2016

Hi everyone! So last week I did a post about my three favourite books of the year so I thought it would be quite fitting to do a post about my top three films of this year. Unlike the book one, this will be films that I have seen that were released this year.

Zootopia – ‘From the largest elephant to the smallest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a mammal metropolis where various animals live and thrive. When Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first rabbit to join the police force, she quickly learns how tough it is to enforce the law. Determined to prove herself, Judy jumps at the opportunity to solve a mysterious case. Unfortunately, that means working with Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a wily fox who makes her job even harder.’ This honestly had to be one of the best films to be released this year and also one of my all time favourite animations. It’s such a fun family film with good morals and I could just watch it over and over!

Dr Strange – ‘Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe.’ As I’ve said before, I love Marvel! This has to be one of the best marvel films I have seen to date. I especially love it because it is the most visually stunning film I’ve ever seen and the plot is just as encapsulating.

Captain America: Civil war – ‘With many people fearing the actions of super heroes, the government decides to push for the Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a hero’s actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government to protect the world. This escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man and Team Captain America while a new villain emerges.’ Another marvel film made my list because this was just such an amazing film! This is the third film in the captain America films and honestly I think it’s the best one. I love marvel films because they have everything, a good plot and stunning visuals.

That’s my top three films of 2016! What were your favourite films of this year? Feel free to share them in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
